The Evolution of a Lifelong Learner…
Have you ever sat down and looked at items you have written in the past and asked, what was I thinking? The past few days I have done just that! From old research papers and my stacks of doodle-filled journals that fill the corners of all hiding spaces within my home, I can see, with pride, how far I have come over the years.
When I was the typical rebellious youth I hated writing! To be much more precise, I hated the entire institution of education, because I of course already knew it all! Thankfully I can now look back and laugh at myself since my attitude of those past days did not lead me into a non-existent future.
For the past few years, I have found my passions in life; history, psychology, and anything else I can sign up to learn more about. Which brings me to the point of this post. Anyone can continue learning at any stage of their life. The internet is packed full of educational opportunities. You can attend college full time or part time in your jammies. Don’t have the money for college? No worries, there are plenty of free or low-cost alternatives. One alternative that I have found is Coursera. With Coursera you can explore thousands of online courses from top universities. You can earn certificates for an individual course, take specializations, or even complete a Master’s degree.
You may also find my short essay Educational-Choices Pros and Cons helpful in your decision-making process. Happy Learning!
